OMG! These African Hair Care Tips Changed My ENTIRE Life
Hey babes! ๐ So I've been getting TONS of DMs about my hair routine lately, and I just HAD to spill all the tea on how I keep these curls poppin'! If you've got beautiful African hair like me, you KNOW the struggle is real sometimes... but trust me when I say I've learned some game-changing tips that I'm dying to share with you!
The Questions Y'all Keep Asking Me... #AskMeAnything
"Girl, how often should I be moisturizing this dry hair?" ๐ฆ
Listen, my hair used to be SO thirsty before I figured this out! Depending on how your hair's feeling, you should be moisturizing DAILY or every other day at minimum. I literally just spray mine down with warm water or Koshajay Essentials Curl Refresher (my holy grail step!) and then seal all that goodness in with an oil or cream. Life-changing, I swear! #MoistureRetention #HydrationNation
"Do I seriously need to deep condition EVERY week?" ๐ง๐พโ๏ธ
YESSS QUEEN! This is non-negotiable in my book! My Sunday self-care ritual ALWAYS includes a deep conditioning treatment. It's literally the reason my hair hasn't completely given up on me after all the styling I put it through! Your curls will thank you with the bounciest, shiniest life ever! #SelfCareSunday #DeepConditioningQueen
"Can I just use whatever shampoo?" ๐งด
Big fat NOPE! Those regular shampoos with sulfates? They're literally the VILLAIN in your hair story! They strip away all the natural oils our hair desperately needs! Stick to sulfate-free shampoos (like the Peach Hibiscus and Honey Curl Clarifying Shampoo by Koshajay Essentials) or try co-washing (that's conditioner washing for the newbies). Game. Changer. #SulfateFree #CoWashClub
"How do I deal with this crazy shrinkage?!" ๐
Shrinkage is actually a sign of healthy hair (I know, weird right?), but when you want to show off that LENGTH, try twist-outs, braid-outs or banding. I did a twist-out ( using the Butter Cream Styler by Koshajay Essentials ) last weekend and people thought I got extensions! ๐ #LengthCheck #ShrinkageProblems
"Please tell me how to detangle without crying!" ๐ญ
Been there, cried those tears! Here's the secret: ONLY detangle when your hair is WET and SLIPPERY with conditioner ( Peach Hibiscus & Honey Conditioner by Koshajay Essentials) . Start at the ends (not the roots!!) and work your way up with a wide-tooth comb or just your fingers. I swear this cut my detangling time in HALF! #TangleFree #DetanglingWins
My Personal Journey #TransformationTuesday
Y'all, when I started properly caring for my African hair texture, I went from constant breakage to inches of growth in just months! No more dry, brittle strands or painful detangling sessions. My hair actually ENJOYS being my hair now! ๐
